InkySites vs Squarespace

Squarespace makes some of the best-looking templates on the web, and if you enjoy building your own site it's a great choice. Paid month to month, its Basic plan is $25 a month and Core, the plan its page recommends, is $39; paid a year up front, they come to $19 and $29 a month. InkySites is $29 a month. But on Squarespace you're the designer, the editor, and the support desk. InkySites redesigns your existing site and runs it from there, paid month to month. Basic costs less and Core more, but on either one you are still the person doing the work. With us that person is us.

Ongoing changes We do. Write what you want in your dashboard in your own words, tap the thing you mean on your own site, or ask for changes on WhatsApp. Your evening stays yours, because you never open an editor or learn a tool you'd use twice a year. Most changes are live within the hour. All within 48. You do it yourself in Squarespace's editor. Its AI chat, Clarkson, is rolling out in waves and may not reach your site yet. Where it has, Squarespace asks you to "carefully review all content generated by Squarespace AI."
Hosting Included. Included.
Leave with your site Files any time; you own the code. Exports your content as a file for WordPress. Your style settings stay behind.
AI-search groundwork Shipped and kept current. You never get sent a list of fixes to make yourself. AI Visibility checks how often AI mentions your site, using your plan's AI credits. Acting on it is your job.

Squarespace's prices were read from squarespace.com/pricing on 19 October 2026, with its "Pay monthly" and "Pay annually" switch both ways, as a visitor in the US sees it and as a visitor in India sees it, where it charges in rupees. Its help centre says "Prices listed on our website don't include GST or JCT" and puts India's GST at 18% (GST on Squarespace billing, read the same day). What Clarkson does was read from Squarespace's help page, Using Squarespace AI, on 24 October 2026, and its export and its AI Visibility tool from Export your site content and Optimize your site for AI-powered search engines, both read 24 October 2026. InkySites's "most within the hour, all within 48" is our normal turnaround, not a contractual SLA. See how the whole done-for-you category prices up.

Who each one is right for.

Choose Squarespace if

You want to build your own site, you care about clean templates, and you enjoy the design work. Squarespace is one of the best tools in the world for doing it yourself, and starting fresh doesn't bother you.

Choose InkySites if

You have a site already, you'd rather not become its designer, and you'd happily pay $29 to have the work done for you. We redesign what you have and run it for you, making your changes whenever you ask, within reason.

Questions people ask.

Squarespace's Basic plan is cheaper. What's the difference?

They're different things. Squarespace gives you the tools to build and maintain your site yourself. InkySites gives you a redesign of your existing site, and we make the changes for you. One is a workshop you operate; the other is a service that runs it for you. That's what the difference in price buys.

Does InkySites look as good as Squarespace?

Squarespace templates are excellent. The difference is that they're templates you fit your business into. We redesign around your business and keep refining it, so you're not picking a layout off a shelf and pouring your content into it.

Can I move my site off InkySites later?

Yes. Your code is yours. Ask from your dashboard any time and we email you the files. Squarespace exports your content as an .xml file for WordPress. Style settings and some features stay behind, so you would rebuild your site somewhere else.

Can Squarespace's AI chat, Clarkson, make my changes for me?

Clarkson can help. It works inside the editor and can change text, add or replace images, and update your site's styles. Squarespace is rolling it out in waves, so it may not be on your site yet. When it is, you still open the editor and type the request, and then you check its work. Squarespace's own help page says: "Ensure you carefully review all content generated by Squarespace AI." With us, you ask in your own words and we make the change, so you never learn the tool.
